Adam Swanson loves old-time piano. And later this month, he's going to share that love, festival style.
This month, Swanson – a senior Music major from Shenandoah, Iowa, and a multiple-time ragtime piano world champion – will bring all those loves together when the Diamond Belle and Strater Hotel host the Durango Ragtime & Early Jazz Festival, March 14 - 16.

In hockey-crazy Durango, having a new game in town is always welcome. And Durango has zealously welcomed the squad from Fort Lewis College as it brought collegiate hockey to the town's home ice. The 2013-14 season marks FLC Hockey's first season in the American Collegiate Hockey Association. In the league, the Skyhawks play a 15-game schedule against teams from Colorado and New Mexico, including trips to Denver to challenge the Colorado School of Mines and the University of Colorado-Denver, to Albuquerque to face off against the University of New Mexico, and to Gunnison, Colorado, to take on nearby rival Western State Colorado University.

They just love sharing the love.
That’s the strongest thing fueling the kinship that has developed between the FLC Cycling team and Durango Devo, a six-year-old youth-development cycling club for Durango-area kids and young adults. And with an area like southwestern Colorado to cycle around, the program’s participants and alumni have already made their mark in amateur, collegiate, and professional cycling.

Fort Lewis College has been a regional focus of this year's battle for the White House -- and FLC students have been the real winners.
First Lady Michele Obama, Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan, and Libertarian Party Vice Presidential candidate Jim Gray all stopped by to stump on campus in the tense last month of the campaign. Obama spoke on October 10, Ryan on October 22, and Gray on October 29.

You could call it "the Corner of FLC & Main."
Actually, it's the corner of 8th Street and Main Avenue. But whatever you call it, the new Durango Welcome Center is also new downtown home of all things Fort Lewis College, bringing the best of campus to folks walking beautiful Durango's sidewalks.
The Durango Welcome Center is a service and contact center for people visiting Durango, and prominently features Fort Lewis College in murals, slide shows, interactive iPads, printed materials, and student greeters who can answer questions about and share their experiences at FLC. The Center will also offer transportation to daily campus tours, and sell tickets to performances at the Community Concert Hall.
