Fort Lewis College shocked the Division II football world last weekend with an upset win over the second-ranked team in the country, CSU-Pueblo. On Thursday, October 16 at 6 p.m. at Dennison Field, the Skyhawks are looking to take down another nationally ranked opponent when Colorado School of Mines comes to Durango for FLC’s Homecoming Football Game.

In hockey-crazy Durango, having a new game in town is always welcome. And Durango has zealously welcomed the squad from Fort Lewis College as it brought collegiate hockey to the town's home ice. The 2013-14 season marks FLC Hockey's first season in the American Collegiate Hockey Association. In the league, the Skyhawks play a 15-game schedule against teams from Colorado and New Mexico, including trips to Denver to challenge the Colorado School of Mines and the University of Colorado-Denver, to Albuquerque to face off against the University of New Mexico, and to Gunnison, Colorado, to take on nearby rival Western State Colorado University.

On Friday, October 4, after nearly a month on the road, the Fort Lewis College Women’s Volleyball team will play their first regular season home match against Western State. On the sidelines of Whalen Gym will be the Skyhawks new head volleyball coach, Kelly Rifilato.

John L. Smith — a longtime NCAA Division I head coach with success at six different universities — will become head football coach at Fort Lewis College effective March 1, Skyhawk Director of Athletics Gary Hunter announced today.
Defensive coordinator Ed Rifilato will continue to oversee day-to-day operations until Smith arrives on campus.

DURANGO - For one day in August, Durango and Fort Lewis College will go from being the center of the collegiate cycling world to the center of the professional cycling world when the USA Pro Cycling Challenge stage race comes to town on August 20. The Fort Lewis College Foundation and Guido’s Favorite Foods are offering a one-of-a-kind chance to experience the Pro Cycling Challenge up close and personal, while supporting the FLC Cycling Team at the same time.
