Restructure of FLC’s Career Services aims to give students more program-specific guidance

Major changes are in the works for Fort Lewis College Career Services. A restructure of the program is planned in an effort to help students receive more program-specific career assistance.

FLC’s Career Services Office is an organization largely independent of the College’s three schools. Under the new restructuring plan, the independent office will be replaced by three career services coordinators hired to work specifically with each of the three schools (the Teacher Education program will share a coordinator with the School of Business Administration).

Eli Halterman: "I'm starting my career"

I'm working with the Missoula Children’s Theatre, a traveling theatre company that visits all 50 states and several countries. My official title is a touring actor/director. In the towns we visit, we offer auditions to kids ages 6 to 18, then we teach them acting, blocking, and even songs as well. Then the kids put on the show for the community. I’m really excited about that. Kids are great and their energy is just really awesome.

Jordan Saylor: "I'm launching my own business"

I'm starting a personal assistant/concierge business with my three sisters, called Saylor and Company. Three of us studied accounting, so we all have a great grasp of business. We also have about 25 years of experience in nannying and personal assistant work between us. We’re focusing on small-event planning. We'll do the whole thing start to finish: grocery shopping, making the food, decorating, all of it.
