College Goal Saturday offers free FAFSA help

Even with changes to the U.S. Department of Education's Free Application for Federal Student Aid that have made the form easier to fill out, the FAFSA, as it's commonly called, can still can be a daunting task.

That's why the FLC Financial Aid Department is hosting College Goal Saturday -- it's a chance for students and parents to get free help filling out the FAFSA from financial aid professionals.

Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan to Speak at Fort Lewis College

On Monday, October 22, 2012, Republican vice presidential candidate Congressman Paul Ryan will speak at a rally at Fort Lewis College. The rally will take place at Whalen Gymnasium, with the doors to the gym opening to the public at 12 p.m. The program begins at 2 p.m. and will include U.S. Speaker of the House John Boehner.

WEDNESDAY: First Lady Michelle Obama to Speak to Grassroots Supporters in Durango, Colorado

This is not a Fort Lewis College event but is coordinated and hosted by Obama for America. All costs for the event incurred by the campaign are the responsibility of Obama for America. Fort Lewis College does not endorse any candidate or political party.

Due to high demand and limited space, there are no longer tickets available for First Lady Michelle Obama's event on Wed, Oct 10, 2012 at Whalen Gymnasium.

Reminder, doors open at 2:15 pm. Please be prepared to pass through airport style security and anticipate long lines.  Thank you for your interest.

Fort Lewis College representatives testify before Congressional committee regarding Native American tuition waiver

Senate Bill 3504 aims to help Native American students achieve that great potential. S.3504, which is sponsored by U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, would offer federal financial assistance to Colorado and Minnesota in covering the cost of the Native American tuition waiver programs at Fort Lewis College and the University of Minnesota-Morris. Senator Bennet, a Democrat, is joined in his legislation by Representative Scott Tipton, a Republican, who has introduced a similar bill in the U.S. House of Representatives.

FLC President Dene Thomas joins Twitter
