December Commencement is a triumphant finish to 2013

The friends and families of more than 200 Fort Lewis College graduates packed Whalen Gym on a cold, but clear day for December Commencement 2013. Associate Professor of Psychology and Alice Admire Outstanding Teaching Award winner Dr. Sue Kraus offered some advice to the final inductees into the Class of 2013 in her Commencement Address.

Fort Lewis College’s 2013 draws to a close with Winter Commencement

For more than 230 Fort Lewis College seniors, Winter Commencement will mark a triumphant conclusion to their undergraduate academic career. Winter Commencement takes place on Saturday, December 21, 2013, in Whalen Gym. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m.

Fort Fuel is online, and fueled by students

Although Haylee Knippel won't be turning her tassel for another two years, her dream career has already begun.

“I just really want to be a news anchor,” says the sophomore from Albuquerque.

And that's exactly what she's doing on Fort Fuel, FLC's recently launched web-based campus news show. The show, developed as part of the Communications practicum course, is filmed weekly in the studio in the Ballantine Media Center, located in the Student Union.

Students win when the FLC Road Scholars Team races the Iron Horse train

Up to 150 alumni, staff, faculty, and friends of Fort Lewis College will combine their love of cycling with helping students, when the Fort Lewis College Road Scholars Team races the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge train from Durango to Silverton in the 2014 Iron Horse Bicycle Classic, on Saturday, May 24.
