DURANGO, CO – At approximately 7:40 p.m., Sunday, September 28, a fire was set outside the door of Dr. Yohannes Woldemariam, a professor in the Political Science/Philosophy Department. The fire caused damage to the carpet and Dr. Woldemariam’s door, but was extinguished before it had a chance to spread further.

The police believe the fire was intentionally set. No motive for the fire has been identified.

In a remarkable show of support, the Fort Lewis College community banded together and raised a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) involved in the fire.
