DURANGO - Students are beginning to trickle back to Durango as the first day of class approaches. This migration of Skyhawks means that the Fort Lewis College Welcome Week is about to shift into high gear.
This year, the College is inviting the Durango community to join in a number of the Welcome Week activities.
Featured among these open-to-the-public activities is the Durango Welcomes Back FLC & PCC Block Party on Tuesday, September 2. Each year the city throws a bash to welcome the new and returning students to town. The party, held on Main Avenue, offers good food, live music and great friends.
Also open to everyone is the outdoor concert featuring Great American Taxi on Thursday, September 4. Great American Taxi rolls bluegrass, folk, country and rock and roll into a sound that the Colorado-based group has shared across the country. The concert is free for everyone and takes place at the Fort Lewis College Amphitheater (the CUB Ballroom if it rains).
