Fort Lewis College offers a wide variety of ways for you to experience our campus. While the best way to learn more about Fort Lewis is to visit our campus in Durango, CO, we do offer an online virtual tour and webinar as well. Virtual Campus Tour

Our virtual campus tour includes images, interviews, and an interactive map that show the quality of our student's educational experience, the numerous athletic and cultural opportunities that are available to our students, and the beauty of our home here in southwest Colorado. The virtual tour includes a map with images of all major buildings on campus so you will know exactly where you are going when you come to visit in person. Daily Information Sessions

We offer daily information sessions designed to answer your questions about Fort Lewis College and the application process. An Admission Counselor will talk about our academic programs, campus life and the benefits of a Fort Lewis College education.

Please note: There will be no regular daily visits on Skyhawk Sneak Peek dates (see Skyhawk Sneak Peeks below).

When: Monday-Friday
Session Times: 9:30a.m. and 1:30p.m.
Campus Tour: Guided campus tours immediately follow each information session. Tours generally last for 90 minutes. Please wear comfortable shoes.

Campus Tour

Join us for a student guided tour of campus. Find out why our campus is unique with its amazing mountain views, clean, safe surroundings and friendly environment. On the tour, you'll see:

  • Classrooms, labs, lecture halls
  • Our new Student Union
  • Performance and gallery spaces
  • Residence halls*

Your guide will explain why Fort Lewis College has been ranked as one of the Best in the West by Princeton Review.

When: Monday-Friday
Start Time: 10a.m. and 2p.m.
Length: 90 minutes

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes.

Fort Lewis College offers group tours to high school and middle school groups, community college groups and groups from the community.

Skyhawk Sneak Peeks

In Spring 2012, the Office of Admission will be offering special Skyhawk Sneak Peek visits that will include:

  • A 30-minute information session
  • A campus tour
  • Lunch in our new Student Union
  • The opportunity to sit in on a class

Skyhawk Saturday: An Open House Event

Skyhawk Saturdays are half-day programs on certain Saturdays throughout the year.

These events provide an in-depth view of Fort Lewis College. You will hear from the different academic units and professors on campus, learn more about financial aid and scholarships and get an overview of the admission process. You will also learn more about student organizations, housing and life at Fort Lewis. A current student will lead you on a tour of our beautiful mountain campus.

Informational Webinars

Join us for a  Journey to College Live Webinar, offered the third Thursday of every month.  We cover a variety of topics, from NCAA sports, to Financial Aid, to live help with our application.  All of our webinars are free and last one hour.  Register for this month’s webinar at the link below.

Dates to Avoid

We are closed to campus visits on the following dates:

  • April 12-13, 2012
Students and Faculty will be on break on the following dates; no residence halls will be shown:
  • December 19, 2011-January 8, 2012
  • March 5-9, 2012
There will be no student ambassadors giving tours due to final exams:
  • April 23-27, 2012
Saturdays -- Interviews and tours are usually not available on Saturdays. We will try to accommodate you if you need a Saturday visit.
 
However, we strongly encourage weekday visits when classes are in session. Residence Hall tours are not available on Saturdays.

Arriving by Car:

Principal highways to Durango: Hwy 550 & Hwy 160

Directions from the Denver area: From Hwy 285 South, turn right on Hwy 112 heading West to Del Norte. In Del Norte, turn right onto Hwy 160. Follow Hwy 160 West in to Durango. Hwy 160 becomes Hwy 160-550. When it splits, follow Hwy 550 to College Drive. Turn right onto College Drive, follow for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Fort Lewis Drive. Follow signs to Office of Admission.

Directions from the Grand Junction area: Hwy 50 South to Hwy 550 South to Durango. Hwy 550 becomes Main Avenue. Follow Main Avenue through downtown Durango to 8th Street. Turn left on 8th Street. When it dead-ends, turn left on 8th Avenue. Follow to top of the hill. At the traffic light, turn left and follow signs for the Office of Admission.

Directions from Colorado Springs - Pueblo areas: I-25 South to Hwy 160 West in to Durango. Hwy 160 becomes Hwy 160-550. When it splits, follow Hwy 550 to College Drive. Turn right onto College Drive, follow for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Fort Lewis Drive. Follow signs for Office of Admission.

Directions from Albuquerque, NM: Hwy 550 North to Durango. Follow 550 North to College Drive. Turn right onto College Drive, follow for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Fort Lewis Drive. Follow signs for Office of Admission.

Arriving by Air:

Daily flights arrive at and depart from the Durango-La Plata County Airport. Daily flights from the Denver and Phoenix area are available.

Fort Lewis College is located about 20 minutes from the airport. When exiting the airport, follow Hwy 172 to Hwy 160 West. Hwy 160 becomes Hwy 160-550. When it splits, follow Hwy 550 to College Drive. Turn right onto College Drive, follow for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Fort Lewis Drive.

Follow signs for Office of Admission.
