Starting the Admission Process

All international applicants must submit the following items to be considered for admission to Fort Lewis College:

  • Completed online application
  • Non-refundable $30 application fee; payment must be in U.S. currency and if paid by check or money order, it must be drawn from a U.S. bank.  Please note the applicant's name on the check or money order.
  • Transcripts from the institution that awarded the secondary school diploma.  If you have previously attended any college or university, have an official transcript from ALL colleges and universities attended mailed directly to the Office of Admission.  All transcripts must be in English.  See the heading "Transcripts" below for further instructions.
  • Declaration and Certification of Finances completed by a bank official.
  • All standardized test scores for the TOEFL and SAT (Fort Lewis College code is 4310) must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service.  All standardized test scores for the ACT (Fort Lewis College is 0510) must be sent from ACT.  A minimum TOEFL score of 173 (computer-based) or 500 (written) is required.

Optional: The following information is optional.  Failure to provide this information will NOT affect the admission decision.  Personal essays, and/or statements of your activities, awards and honors may be sent to the Office of Admission.  While grades, scores and other information requested on this application provide us with important information about your academic performance, they don't always tell the whole story.  We would like to know more about you.  You are welcome to tell us what is not included on this application.  You may wish to include your personal goals, travel and/or employment experience, community activities, influential people in your life, special talents or honors, circumstances affecting your academic record, or any other information you believe the Admission Committee should have in order to know you better.

Transcripts

When completing the print or online application, please list all institutions attended.  Transcripts of all diplomas and/or degrees earned at the time of the application must be submitted with the application packet.

Documents submitted become the property of Fort Lewis College and cannot be returned or forwarded to another institution.

All transcripts of academic work completed outside the United States must be:

  • official, that is, in the original, sealed envelope of the issuing institution, and
  • accompanied by a certified translation and certified evaluation, both in English.

High school diplomas require a document by document evaluation with U.S. equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA).  College transcripts require a course by course evaluation.  Click on one of the following links for specific information on transcript evaluation.
