Transferring from a Two-Year Colorado Institution

If you have attended any two-year public community college or junior college in Colorado, you may be eligible to take advantage of several transfer policies that guarantee transfer of credit.  However, you do not need to complete your AA or AS degree to transfer to Fort Lewis College.  You can transfer to Fort Lewis College at any time.  

60/60 Transfer Guides
The 60/60 Transfer Guides provide a coursework plan for students interested in completing an AA or AS degree within 60 semester credits at a two year institution and then transferring to Fort Lewis College to complete a bachelor's degree with an additional 60 semester credits.  Please visit 60/60 Transfer Guides.

Statewide Articulation Agreements

The Statewide Articulation Agreements provide coursework plans for transfer students interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree in one of the five professional areas:  Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Engineering and Nursing.

gtPathways

gtPathways is a set of general education courses that are guaranteed to transfer to any public community college or any four-year college or university in the state.  The receiving school must award general education credit for all successful completion of gtPathways courses. For more information on the gtPathway courses visit gtPathways.

 

Transferring with an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science Degree

If you are transferring to Fort Lewis College in 2005-06 with an AA or AS from a Colorado community college, you will automatically be exempt from all lower division general education requirements at Fort Lewis College. Students with an AA or AS are only required to take two upper division general education courses, called
Thematic Studies II.

 

Statewide Transfer of AA or AS Degree

If you

Complete your AA or AS degree including 35 credits of state-guaranteed general education courses, and earn a C- or better in each course, 

Then

  • At least 60 hours of your AA or AS will transfer completely, upon admission, to a bachelor's degree at Fort Lewis College.
  • All lower division general education requirements are fulfilled, and only two upper division Thematic Studies (6-8 credits) are required.

 

 

Transferring without an AA or AS Degree

You do not need to complete your AA or AS degree to transfer to Fort Lewis College. If you have completed at least 13 semester credits of coursework at a community college with a 2.4 cumulative GPA, then you will be admitted and your courses will be evaluated on a course by course basis. If you have less than 13 semester credits, you will need to submit your high school transcripts and ACT or SAT test scores for admission evaluation. All official transcripts and test scores must be sent by the issuing school to the Office of Admission.

Fort Lewis General Education Requirements

Students transferring to Fort Lewis College must be prepared to complete the General Education Program. The General Education Program focuses on providing students with a broad exposure to the liberal arts education. The General Education program includes general studies, writing, library literacy, quantitative reasoning, physical education and thematic studies, a disciplinary based course in the four areas below.
