Lori Benefiel has over 13 years of direct practice clinical experience in the field of medical social work. Her areas of expertise are in short-term/crisis counseling, adjustment counseling and providing services to families and children with disabilities. Her graduate work focused on infant facial preference research and medical social work. She has taught courses in Introduction to Psychology, Human Development, Introduction to Sociology, Ethnic Families in America and Odyssey Through Wellness – A Look at How Systems Affect Our Health and Wellness. Her special areas of interest include Community and Global Health, Understanding and Appreciating Ethnic Minorities in the US, and Community Social Work Practice.
