Substitutions or Waivers

    A request for an Exception to Graduation Requirements may be initiated by the student, the student’s advisor, or a departmental faculty member for substitutions and waivers when necessary. If approved, the chair (or appropriate program director) and dean must notify the Registrar’s Office (email gradcheck@fortlewis.edu). The student and advisors will be notified via email when the request is processed by the Registrar’s Office.

 Exception to Graduation Requirement Process

1) Initiate the request to the chair (or appropriate program director).

2) If approved, the chair (or appropriate program director) will forward the approved exception to the appropriate Associate Dean for approval.

3) Once the exception is fully approved within the departments the approved exception should be sent to gradcheck@fortlewis.edu.

Substitutions

1. Request for a course to be used in a substitution for a required course must be made through the Exception to Graduation Requirements process. Approved exception must be emailed to gradcheck@fortlewis.edu.

2. If the course to be substituted was transferred in from another college and the student wants a different FLC equivalency, the student must complete one of the following Transfer Inquiry forms and email it to TransferEvaluations@fortlewis.edu:

Waivers
