Renting Educational Films and Videos

There is no provision for interlibrary library loan of films and videos.  On the other hand, there are a tremendous number of films and videos available from university rental libraries, many times for a quite reasonable price.  Contact _Mike Larson_ or _Ross Worley_ for help in processing rental orders for films or videos.  Please be aware, however, that your department will be responsible for the rental cost and return shipping.  The following university film and video rental centers have made information about their collections available on line.

Television Programming

Have you ever had the experience of watching a great program on television, but then didn't have a piece of paper and pencil handy when the phone number for the video or transcript was flashed on the screen?  Here's a great resource that lists many of those companies and how to contact them:

I Saw it on TV - http://www.library.nwu.edu/media/resources/tvguide.html

Daily television listings are available from Zap2it TV - http://tv.zap2it.com/ ("Your source for everything television")

You may want to go directly to the television source.  Here are some WWW pages of television programming companies.  These channels are available on a number of formats.  They may be provided by your local cable television service or they may be available on a C-band or Ku-band satellite, some encripted, some not, or they may be available on the small dish digital television services, such as Prime Star or Echostar.

Renting Feature Films

Many feature films, films that were shown in theaters before they were available on 16mm or video, are available to rent from local video rental stores.  Many titles, however, are not available from the video stores.  The Audiovisual Center collects catalogs from companies that rent and sell video copies of feature films.  Here are some of the resources available:
