The Audiovisual Center occasionally receives information about film, video, and multimedia festivals that encourage students to submit entries. We’ll post here what we’ve received. However, there are literally hundreds of festivals like this around the world, so we encourage you to do some searching on the web if you’re interested in more.
The Christophers: One Person Can Make a Difference: http://www.christophers.org

3, 1999. A non-profit organization, The Christophers use the mass
media to spread two basic ideas: There’s nobody like you. And
you can make a difference. Based on the Judeo-Christian concept of
service to God and all humanity, the Christopher message is addressed to
people of all faiths and of no particular faith. Founded in 1945,
the Christophers’ motto is: It’s better to light one candle than
to curse the darkness.

Devoted solely to filmmaking, the New York Film Academy concentrates
all its resources on its filmmaking workshops. We have worked with
students and faculty from films schools around the world and incorporated
the best elements of each program to create the most effective curriculum
for students to express their creativity.

The purpose of the Student Academy awards competition is to support and
encourage filmmakers with no previous professional experience who are enrolled
in accredited colleges and universities.
