Kim received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Colorado University at Denver in 2000. She has worked in a variety of settings and helped create and implement an adolescent outpatient treatment program working with self-harming and suicidal adolescents and their families. Kim has presented her clinical approach to working with this population at several local and state conferences. Kim recently accepted an invitation to present at the International Society of the Study of Self-Injury (ISSS) at Harvard University. Kim will also be presenting at the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) Conference in Chicago, February 2009.
She has been published by the American Counseling Association (ACA) and was asked to write a chapter for Matthew Selekman’s next treatment manual about her approach to working with self-harming and suicidal adolescents.
Kim has been in Durango for over nine years and lives with her husband and two daughters Isabella and Sofia. In addition to working at the Counseling Center at Fort Lewis College, Kim continues to write, present, and operates a small private practice in Durango.
