Content Test Requirements and Passing Rates

All students are required to take a state approved content test for their licensure program in order to advance to student teaching at FLC.  Some programs require students to take the Colorado PLACE test and others give students a choice between the Colorado PLACE test or the national ETS administered Praxis II test.

From January 1 2002 through December 31 2010, 729 students completed our program and all passed their required content test.  As entrance into student teaching is dependent on passing the test, Fort Lewis College has a passing rate of 100%.

Data gained over the past six years indicate that 74% of our students who have declared teacher education at some point passed the test on their first try and 85% passed on their first or subsequent (mostly second) attempt.

The information below is posted on the Teacher Education bulletin board, located outside EBH 244 and 242.  Dates and Testing Centers are updated at the beginning of each Fall Term.
