Family Weekend is a time to connect with your student, see some areas of the campus that may be of interest and take advantage of a few beautiful fall days in Durango.

Please scroll throught the schedule below as we invite you to be our guests at the Homecoming Tailgate Party and have arranged for some special tours of new facilities and a discount on the Durango Silverton Narrow Guage Railroad.

Knowing that your student (and maybe a select friend or two) really want time with you that is not otherwise filled with meetings and programs, we offer “options” and encourage you to pick and choose what might be good options for your family.  Here are some of those options:

Friday, October 9

Live Music Sponsored by the Student Programming Council: 4:30 pm, Train Depot  at 5^thand Main

Narrow Gauge Train Museum: 7am to 7pm daily Train Depot  5^th and Main

Homecoming Parade:

 6 pm 5^th St and Main Ave, Durango
 

Alumni Check-in and Reception:  7 pm  The Irish Embassy Pub  9^th and Main Ave

Saturday, October 10

FLC BOOKSTORE:  10 am to 12 noon in Student Union.   Also, please check out their tent at the Homecoming Football Game

STUDENT UNION TOURS:  11 – 11:45 am   Come check out the newly renovated areas of our Student Union. The Leadership Center, Information Desk and Main Lobby, Ballroom and Valletico Room are now ready and showcase what is in store. Tours begin at the Information Desk on the main floor.   

ANIMAS HALL TOURS:  11:30 – 12noon   Our newest Residence Hall for students is another glimpse of how this campus is moving forward in response to students’ needs and desires.  Recently opened in August, 2009, this is the future of Student Housing at Fort Lewis College.

FOOTBALL TAILGATE PARTY:  12 – 2 pm   North of Whalen Gymnasium outside Dennison Field 
Family members eat free, compliments of SODEXO.  Please accompany your student through the cashier line.  They will need to show their FLC Student ID.

HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME VS. ADAMS STATE:  2 p.m.,

FOOTBALL STADIUM ALUMNI AWARDS BANQUET:  6:30 p.m., College Union Building Ballroom

Sunday, October 11

FLC Soccer Vs. Mesa State: 12 p.m., Dirks Field (soccer field next to football stadium)

Family Weekend participants will receive at 15% discount for the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Train: Sunday, October 11, 2009 only. 
This discount is for parties up to four when family members accompany their student (FLC ID required).
