Candace Nadon is a fifth-generation Coloradan who grew up in Glenwood Springs.
She earned a BA in English from Fort Lewis College in 1997; an MFA in Creative Writing from Stonecoast Low-Residency MFA in Creative Writing in Portland, Maine in 2006; and a PhD in English with Creative Concentration from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2013. She writes fiction, poetry, and lyric essay, and her work focuses on the landscape and lives of women in the contemporary West.
Candace believes all writing is creative and that writing is a means of exploration and connection. She loves working with Fort Lewis’ exceptional students. Beyond writing and reading, Candace enjoys cycling, hiking, running, yoga, baking, and gardening.
