Jillian Wenburg

Visiting Instructor of Writing

Jillian is originally from southwestern Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska – Kearney, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature in 2005 and her Master’s degree in English Literature in 2006. Her master’s thesis research focused upon two postcolonial women’s memoirs. She began study in the Interdisciplinary PhD program in English and History at the University of Missouri - Kansas City in the Fall of 2009 and has completed all of her coursework toward her degree and successfully passed her comprehensive examinations, achieving PhD candidacy, in March 2012. She is currently working on her dissertation, which focuses on Western author Mari Sandoz.

Jillian has taught a number of composition courses while continuing her education. In addition to her work on her PhD program and teaching, Jillian runs a small web and graphic design company, Rural Designs, part time. She enjoys running, hiking, biking, camping, art, photography, and reading.
