Review the BOT evaluation of President Tom Stritikus

In May 2022, the Fort Lewis Board of Trustees (BOT) completed the formal evaluation of Dr. Tom Stritikus as President of Fort Lewis College (FLC). Under our board policies in section 5.1.3 of the Board Manual, the BOT constructed an evaluation that reviewed the following elements of Dr. Stritikus’ performance, including the following:

  1. Ensuring that sound institutional goals are being pursued and achieved
  2. Fostering improved institutional performance
  3. Increasing the legitimacy of the Office of the President and
  4. Familiarizing the BOT with complex functions, obligations, restrictions, realities that occupy the President.

Survey Notes

  • The survey results are a summation of all Likert Scale data of all the surveys - including the student data.
  • "Raw Score" is the weighted summation of all Likert Scale responses. 5,4,3,2 or 1 point was assigned to each response in the "Strongly Agree", "Agree", "Neutral", "Disagree", and "Strongly Disagree" respectively.
  • "Average Score" was calculated by dividing "Raw Score" by the total number of responses, LESS the number of 'I don't know/ N/A" responses.
  • "Group Ranking" is relative ranking within a particular group of questions (i.e. Team Capabilities). The lower the number the higher the average score- when compared to particular group.
  • "Total Ranking" is the relative ranking of 26 Likert Scale questions. The lower the number the higher the Average Score within all categories.
