Sarah Roberts-Cady is a professor in the Department of Philosophy and Gender and Sexuality Studies at Fort Lewis College. She joined the college in 2000. Roberts-Cady’s research focuses on critical thinking about ethics. Her work analyses medical ethics, environmental ethics, and issues of social justice. Furthermore, she teaches courses on moral theory, medical ethics, environmental ethics, political philosophy, feminist philosophies, and general surveys of philosophy.
Roberts-Cady was the Alice Admire Outstanding Teacher at Fort Lewis College in 2011 and the Fort Lewis College commencement speaker in May 2009. She has served on the Institutional Review Board at Fort Lewis College since 2003, on the General Education Council for a number of terms, on the Committee on the Status of Women Faculty, and the Work-Life Wellness Committee. She was the department chair for the Departments of Political Science and Philosophy from 2010 to 2012. Off campus, Roberts-Cady has served on the Ethics Committee at Mercy Regional Medical Center since 2000. She has refereed for several publications, most recently NeuroEthics, Res Publica, and Social Theory and Practice.
