To define the facilities requirements at Fort Lewis College, we must understand the programmatic vision. This is based on the College's mission, vision and goals and is further defined by each program. Programs determine their role in advancing the College's mission and help articulate their needs in order to do so.
The program issues were gathered by the master planning committee during numerous campus workshops and meetings throughout the winter of 2003 and the spring of 2004. All FLC students, academic and administrative departments were invited to attend and participate in these workshops wherein over four hundred programmatic items of concern were identified. The master plan steering committee, working with the College President and Vice Presidents then clarified, consolidated and prioritized the listing to produce a final list that describes the programmatic needs of the campus.
