Ignite U, featuring the LeaderShape Institute, is a four day experience you won’t soon forget! Through a fun, creative program you will get to learn more about your style of leadership and create close relationships with other students and FLC staff and faculty. Ignite U is designed to set you up for the greatest success possible where you will:
Here is what one FLC student had to say about her experience:
“I have had one of the most inspirational, emotional, and educational weeks of my life with new friendships, connections, and a new family. I have never felt so happy and excited for my future. I’ve learned so much about myself, the potential that I have within, and just what I need to do to be successful! I don’t know how to thank the people who gave me this opportunity to come here or how to thank the people who coached us, inspired us, and lead us to find our true potential. I’m leaving this place and all the friends I have made with the sadness it is over, but so happy with all the things I have gained. Thank you – you have changed my life!”
Are you ready to be inspired? Are you ready to be changed? It’s time for ignition so you'll be ready to LAUNCH - see you at Ignite U!

Food: All meals are provided and served buffet style; we will do our best to work with our host facility to make sure dietary needs are addressed.
Lodging: Our location is a wonderful camp located 15 miles west of the Fort Lewis College campus. Participants will be sharing bunk-style cabins similar to what you may experience at a summer camp. Facilities are heated. This kind of a facility allows us to provide a level of comfort while providing an exceptional value and also make sure you have a place to really focus on the experience and learn what it means to be a Skyhawk.
The following list is the suggested items to bring to The Institute. Remember, these are recommendations and only you know what makes you comfortable so plan accordingly. Please come prepared yet don’t over pack. July is a beautiful time but weather can vary from warm temps to rain and everything in between. You will be sharing accommodations with other students. Also, note that cell phone use may be severely limited due to our location and phone use is only allowed during breaks. This is a very busy week with little down time so don’t plan on getting other work done. Participants are expected to get to campus on their own and FLC will provide transportation to the site.
