Getting to Durango & lodging

Looking for the best way to get to Durango? Check out our Maps, Directions, & Parking page. If you’ll be staying at a hotel in Durango, be sure to mention that you’re visiting FLC. Many hotels offer discounts to visiting students and families. If you want to get to know Durango while you're here, check out our Things to Do page

Taking care of yourself while you're here

Durango is dry, high, (6,512 feet above sea level, to be exact), and usually sunny (300+ sunny days a year). The semi-arid climate and altitude make it very important that you drink lots of water and protect your skin from UV rays while you’re here.

Dress for the weather and bring comfortable footwear, if you’ll be walking with us on our tour of campus. Spring and fall weather range from warm and sunny to cold, snowy, and windy. In other words, check the forecast before you come, and be ready for anything.
