I love musicals! Plays, movies, tv shows - all of them. I cannot sing well whatsoever, but I sure love a good musical performance.
Favorite spot on campus:
The bench at the top of the Sky Steps. It shows my favorite view of Durango and the La Plata Mountains and is also where my husband proposed (a hundred years ago)! The bench is right outside of the Admission Office, so I'm lucky enough to be able to take a quick breathe of fresh air to see our beautiful town and remembering such a special moment in my life. (Bonus, I get to say hello to everyone coming up and down the Sky Steps!)
Sushi from East by Southwest in downtown Durango. Try their namesake roll (East by Southwest) - you won't regret it!
Advice for returning students:
Say hello to each of your professors during office hours in your first few weeks of every semester. Just stop by and introduce yourself - they want to get to know you and although our classes are small, taking five minutes to meet one-on-one will give you that much more of a chance to connect and will set a great tone for the rest of the semester. Every professor has their office hours posted in the class syllabus, so after your first day of class, you'll know when they have open hours.
