Each year we host students from approximately 20 nations through our international programs. We hope you find our campus a welcoming home, your faculty is caring and engaged, and Durango is a safe and exciting place to adventure. FLC students, faculty, and staff bring adventure into all we do, and so can you! Your classes will take you to rivers, mountains, and canyons of the Southwest United States.

Admission process for international students

It takes 15-20 minutes to complete your admission application and start your next adventure.

1. Fill out your application & pay the application fee
2. Provide your official transcripts
3. Include your personal statement or college essay (optional)
4. Provide test scores (optional)

Admission decisions

Applicants are notified by email within 4-6 weeks of submitting a completed application.

Applicants denied admission can request to appeal the decision for reconsideration.

Affordability

International degree-seeking students are automatically considered for Merit Scholarships during the admission process.

Free ski pass

Incoming first-year, first-time international students through Spring 2024 enrolled in at least 12 credit hours receive a free season ski pass.

Housing

First-year international students are guaranteed campus housing in our beautiful town of Durango, CO. Transfer international students can also apply to live on campus.

Reed Honors

Apply if you have a minimum high school unweighted GPA of 3.5 or a minimum college GPA of 3.0, and you want to be part of a community of high-achieving, highly motivated students.
