Lead ambassador positions

Lead Student Ambassadors accept the added responsibility managing the Student Ambassador program. To be considered for one of these positions (described below) you must have

  • Served as a Student Ambassador for at least 1 year
  • Demonstrated the ability to manage various programs
  • Shown exceptional commitment to furthering the mission of the Office of Admission
  • Developed the skills to lead and mentor Student Ambassadors and be willing to keep growing as a leader

Lead Ambassador benefits include an hourly pay of $13.10, a $500 scholarship per semester, and résumé-building programmatic responsibilities.

Position description


  • Manages ambassador schedules for each semester, special events, and weekend tours
  • Organizes professional development sessions, training nights
  • Prepares lists for ambassador calling nights
  • Communicates expectations and reminders to student ambassadors through email and text messages
  • Greeting guests, answering phone calls and emails as a representative of the Admission Office
  • Provide awesome tours of campus to highlight the strengths and resources of FLC


  • Worked as a Student Ambassador at Fort Lewis College for at least 1 year
  • Must have the ability to work a schedule that accounts for daily or significant presence in the office
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative FLC GPA
  • Currently enrolled, full-time, Fort Lewis College student
  • Must commit to working a full academic year
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
  • Passionate about Fort Lewis College and sharing knowledge and experience with others 


  • Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week within the 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. workday
  • Availability to work 4 evenings per month for calling nights (typically Mon – Thursday 5-7pm)
  • Availability to work FLC Preview Days and Friday at the Fort events
  • Available to give one Saturday campus tour per semester
  • Availability to attend weekly training one night per week (to be determined based on availability)
