This step is required for Principal Leadership, Special Education, and Teacher Licensure programs only.
To be eligible for student teaching placement, candidates must be fingerprinted by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) as a Field Experience Educator. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will process a criminal history check and route it to CDE. The CDE will make this information available to Fort Lewis College as your Educator Prep Program and the school district or charter school you will be placed for your field-based learning.

Graduate Student Orientation is required. You will get more information after you’re admitted to a program. The 2024 orientation date for Fall 2024 is August 15, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
