Academic Warning

If your current academic status is Academic Warning, you will receive an email from the Office of the Registrar at the end of a semester informing you of that status. You can also see your current academic status by looking at your transcript, located on WebOPUS. If you are on Academic Warning, it means:

  • Your semester GPA is below a 2.0 and
  • Your overall GPA is above a 2.0

Academic Warning is just that - a warning. It is in place to remind students that if their overall GPA falls below a 2.0, they will be on Academic Probation. It isn't a punishment after a bad semester, just a notification to make you aware of your current GPA situation and to make corrections if necessary.

To plan out your semester and to look into what grades you would need to move out of Academic Warning, you can use a GPA calculator. You can also set up an appointment with an academic advisor to go over different scenarios and choose classes that will work the best for your GPA.
