Small classes. Big expectations.

FLC is a teaching-centered college, which means students work directly with faculty in classrooms, labs, studios, field sites, and performance spaces.

Here, academic rigor does not mean getting lost in the crowd. It means being challenged, supported, and expected to do meaningful work.

Research starts before graduate school

At many colleges, research is something students wait years to do. At FLC, undergraduates take part in mentored research, creative work, and design projects across disciplines.

Students work with faculty on projects in science labs, art studios, archives, theaters, communities, and the outdoors — building the kind of experience that helps them stand out for graduate school, careers, and competitive opportunities.

Support that helps you keep going

You do not have to figure college out alone. FLC offers academic support designed to help students adjust, stay on track, and finish strong.

Support includes tutoring, advising, TRIO student support services, and faculty mentorship. Whether you need help with a class, a plan for your major, or encouragement during a hard semester, there are people here to help.
