The School of Business Administration offers study abroad programs. Travel classes are an increasingly important part of a complete education. Students learn about world markets and global issues. They also have unique experiences with different cultures and languages in the world. Students who have studied abroad are more competitive in the job market, in the U.S. and internationally, and for placement in graduate programs.
Each year, dedicated Business School faculty members offer a variety of "Innovative Month" and "Trimester Abroad" (Semester Abroad) programs, which can include summer travel as part of the learning experience along with academic credit earned for specifically designed coursework. In the past, professors have organized Innovative Months to Costa Rica, Peru, China, Africa and Ireland, as well as Trimester Abroad programs to France, Spain Germany and Norway.
Fort Lewis College also offers Exchanges, Direct Enrollments and Study Abroad opportunities around the world to individual students through the International Programs Office. FLC offers pre-departure general studies courses to prepare students to study abroad. International Exchanges are reciprocal exchange agreements with partner institutions in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Students participating on these exchanges pay Fort Lewis tuition and fees and receive transfer credit for their semesters abroad. Students are responsible for their individual travel and living expenses. Financial aid is available to eligible Fort Lewis students. Tuition waivers may also be used.
Direct Enrollments and Study Abroad programs offer alternative locations and curriculum choices to Fort Lewis students when our current exchange schools do not meet their needs. While participating in these study aborad programs, students pay their tuition directly to approved institutions or third party providers.
