What next?

Coming to Fort Lewis College, I had no plans to pursue graduate programs after completing my baccalaureate degree.  Additionally, I had no concrete career plans or goals.  Getting involved on campus has really opened my eyes to a world of possibilities within and outside of Fort Lewis College.  Joining student organizations and stepping into roles of leadership at Fort Lewis College has had such a profound impact on my success.

Making the choice

I couldn’t have chosen a better college to attend and every day I am extremely thankful that I chose Fort Lewis. I attended high school in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and I knew that it would be very hard for me to leave Glenwood because it is such a beautiful, small mountain town with many outdoor activities available all year round. As high school was coming to an end, I knew that I would not be able to go to an out of state college. I wanted to go to a school where I could easily go skiing without driving a long way to the mountain.

Following in my mother's footsteps

I had always told myself that I would not follow in my mother’s footsteps. My internship in event planning

Growing up, I was always a typical girl, dreaming of princess dresses, flowers, good food, music, and eating yummy cake. That’s when I decided to major in Business, focusing in Tourism/Hospitality Management, with an aim to find a career in the Wedding Planning and Event Coordinating industry.

Best mountain biking adventure in Durango

Engine Creek Ride!

Yes, it is true—most bikes in Durango are worth more than a person’s car. I, myself, am almost guilty of that logic. Mountain bike riding is an amazing experience in Durango, and there are thousands of miles of trails that individuals can ride right outside their backdoor.  I have done a good number of those “in town” rides, but the most epic ride that I have been on so far was a bit north of town. The name of the trail is Engine Creek Trail; a steep climb up Engineer Mountain followed by a techy downhill descent all around the circumference of Engineer Mountain is what makes this trail my favorite trail by far.
