This Innovative Month will certainly nourish the souls of those who embark on this adventure in learning with Dr. McBrayer. Through a combination of on-campus coursework and visits to the cities and islands of Greece, students will come away with a new, well-rounded understanding of Greek history, culture, philosophy and philosophers, the current economic crisis, and the people of Greece. 

Program Dates: April 29 - May 24, 2013
       On-campus classes Monday, April 29 - Wednesday, May 1
       Travel Dates: Monday, May 6 - Friday, May 24

Some of the places you will explore:

  • Historical sites of Athens: the Acropolis, the Agora, the Lyceum, Dionysus Theater, Hadrian's Arch, Temple of Zeus, Syntagma Square, Cape Sounion, and the Temple of Poseidon
  • Delphi and Òssios Loukás
  • Olympia's Museum of the Olympic Games and Archeological Museum
  • Nafplion and Tolo Beach
  • Hydra, an island in the Aegean Sea 
  • The Island of Naxos
  • Santorini: 'The Pompeii of the Aegean'

    EGC 311 Global Issues: Study Abroad Greece (3 cr)
    PHIL 274 Ancient & Medieval Philosophy (4 cr)
    PHIL 390 Greek Philosophy (4 cr)

Total Cost (best faith estimate):  $6,485*

   * Native Tuition Waiver applies for qualified students; 
      $945 tuition is waived, making total cost $5,540.

  Payment Schedule:  

$1,500 Nonrefundable Deposit Due to FLC Cashier by March 1, 2013

$2,225 Fixed Costs Due to FLC Cashier by April 5, 2013

$1,120 ** Tuition/fees for 7 Credits Due April 19, 2013

   ** With the Native American Waiver, students pay only $175 fees

Included in above payments to FLC:

  • Accommodations for 18 nights in Greece (double-occupancy, 3-star hotels)
  • Meals + Tips (18 breakfasts, 8 dinners, 1 lunch, 2 wine tastings)
  • Entry fees for all historic  sites and tours
  • All transport in Greece
  • English-speaking escorts throughout travel
  • Local guides in all cities and wine experts for two winery tours
  • Tuition for 7 credit hours

$1,640 Out of Pocket Costs (included in the estimated total cost) will be paid separately by students at the time of purchase. This is to cover airfare, books, some meals, snacks, and a bit of pocket money.
