SACNAS: The Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science
SACNAS club advisor take s group of FLC students to the
2016 SACNAS Conference in Long Beach, CA.


SACNAS' purpose is to increase the number of Hispanics/Chicanos and Native Americans in science research, leadership, and teaching careers at all levels. To this end, SACNAS supports and encourages underrepresented minorities in their pursuit of advanced degrees in science and inspires in them the motivation to be leaders.

SACNAS is an active club meeting weekly with student officers. The club travels a group each year to the annual SACNAS conference. Travel grants and other funding sources are avilable for students to attend and present at this conference.
