About Katherine Smith

Katherine (Kate) is an adjunct faculty in the Department of Sociology at Fort Lewis College. She joined the College in 2014.  Smith’s primary research is in the field of Gerontology (the study of aging.)  Kate has worked in the domestic violence and sexual assault field in Colorado Springs, Colorado, serving as the Safehouse Manager for two and one- half years for the non-profit organization TESSA, and then as an Educator for TESSA for another two and one-half years, speaking in the community of the topics of domestic violence and sexual assault
