Office of Financial Aid

Selecting Recipients and Cost Budgets

SELECTING RECIPIENTS

The Department of Education determines how much you and your parents are expected to contribute to your education according to your FAFSA information. They consider income, family size, number of family members in college, whether both parents work, assets, etc. to determine the amount of your Expected Family Contribution (EFC).

We subtract actual and anticipated resources from your cost budget to determine your financial need. Inform the Office of Financial aid if you have scholarships or other resources. If your resources are less than your budget, you have financial need as defined by the Department of Education.
