Practicum Study:

Students may register for an internship or practicum in any field, as long as the project undertaken is G/WS-related. Be sure to check prerequisites for all courses. (Students must receive approval from the G/WS Coordinator to receive approval before signing up for internship or practicum credit). Students must sign up for a minimum of two credits and a maximum of six credits in one of the following (NOTE: If the course has variable credit, the student must select the appropriate number of credits when registering.):

  • ANTH 316 - Internship in Anthropology Credits: 1-6 (need 2-6 credits) (30 contact hours of work for each credit hour earned)
  • BIO 480 - Internship in Biology Credits: 1-3 (need 3 credits) (requires at least 125 hours of directed experience; credit cannot be applied toward the biology major)
  • BA 437 - Internship in Business Credits: 3 (150 contact hours minimum)
  • ED 488 - Seminar & Pract College Teach Credits: 2-3
  • ENGL 258 - Practicum - Service Learning Credits: 1-6 (need 3-6 credits) (30 contact hours of work for each credit hour earned)
  • ENGL 358 - Practicum - Service Learning Credits: 1-6 (need 3-6 credits) (30 contact hours of work for each credit hour earned)
  • ES 450 - Internship Exercise Specialist Credits: 3
  • SOC 320 - Community Service Practicum Credits: 1-16 (need 4 credits) (Practicum may be taken for 4 credits to fulfill a G/WS major requirement when the project is approved in advance by the G/WS Coordinator.)
