Home Internet Access
Before you connect your personal device to the Fort Lewis College network, make sure to follow these two guidelines to keep your computer and those around you safe:
- The most common reason computers become damaged by malware is due to out of date security patches. Configure your personal device’s operating system (Windows or Mac) to download and update security patches automatically. Do the same for your web browsers and plug in’s, especially Java and Adobe Flash. If you have questions on how to set this up, please contact the Help Desk.
- Install and use an Antivirus and Antispyware program. Hackers use malware to take control of your computer, your files and to access your financial accounts. Using and keeping your Anti-Virus program up-to-date is one of the most important things you can do to keep your computer and others around you safe. See www.fortlewis.edu/anti-virus on how to get free anti-virus software and more.

Most IT services at Fort Lewis College such as email, file shares, Office365, and websites are available from any Internet connected device. FLC has a virtual private network (VPN) that is available as needed for certain resources that are not publically accessible. You can request VPN access from the IT service catalog at https://askit.fortlewis.edu
After you login, select: Request Something from IT -> Network and Wireless -> VPN Access/Issue
