FLC Together Pledge

Being a part of the Skyhawk community means that each of us must take extraordinary steps to stay well and persistently protect each other, on campus and in the community. Accountable together, I pledge to take responsibility for my own health, the protection of others and help keep the Skyhawk community safe from spread of COVID-19 and other infections as identified and instructed by Fort Lewis College.

I pledge to

Protect Myself

  • Monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and report to a medical professional if I experience fever of 100.4 (38 C) or higher, dry cough, difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or loss of taste or smell.
  • Wash my hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
  • Follow protocols that may be specific to my engagement at Fort Lewis College (employment, athletics, on-campus housing, labs, etc.)

Protect Others

  • Maintain appropriate social distancing, especially in classroom settings or during social activities.
  • Stay home if I feel ill or after exposure to someone who is ill or has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Wear a mask and other protective gear as directed by Fort Lewis College.
  • Limit travel during the semester and I will report any travel that may have exposed me to someone who is ill or has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Be positive, attentive, and helpful to anyone around who may be in need of support.

Protect our Skyhawk Community

  • Participate in contact tracing to preserve the wellness of the community.
  • Follow any isolation or quarantine protocols that have been identified as a necessary measure.
  • Carefully observe instructional signs and follow directions.
  • Remind community members of the FLC Together Pledge and report any individuals that fail to uphold the tenets of the pledge. Employees and students will be subject to disciplinary action for not complying with the tenets of the FLC Together Pledge.
