Facilities Master Plan - Space Inventory

Space Inventory

The space inventory is managed and maintained by the Physical Plant Department.  It is reviewed every three years, at the same time the facilities audit is performed.  Although a major review occurs with the audit, the inventory is updated continuously when known changes occur.  The inventory is updated whenever the department is involved in a building renovation, and addition, a new building or there is a major change in space inventory.

The College uses the National Center for Educational Statistics', Postsecondary Education Facilities Inventory and Classifications to organize its data.  This system is the most commonly used classification system in the world.

The system classifies all spaces according to type and use.  Its foundation is the assignable square foot (ASF) or usable space a program or function can occupy.  A summary of the current space inventory follows.
