The academic speaker series has proven very successful for students, faculty, and other programs at Fort Lewis College. With financial support from the Ottens Foundation, the NAC has collaborated with various departments of the College and the Durango community. For 2014-15, NAC has is collaborating with the College Community Concert Hall as it invites the following two programs during November 2014: Winona LaDuke and Dancing Earth. The NAC will host small events in the Native American Center for students to interact with both Winona LaDuke and Dancing Earth. The NAC is currently working to secure two more speakers for Spring 2014. All events and presentations are FREE and open to the public. Information about the final individuals will be publicized here once a selected a speaker is confirmed. Last year, students eagerly volunteered to assist with different pieces of the programs and served as student assistants to the guest speakers.
