John Francis will serve as chairman of the Fort Lewis College Foundation for the coming year. Keith Newbold was tabbed as vice chair and Moni Grushkin will serve as secretary. Mel Owen will continue as treasurer of the institutionally related foundation.

If there’s one thing every person has, it’s a life story. Fortunately, Susan Terrill-Flint is dedicated to helping people preserve their life stories and their family histories against time and age. And fortunately for many Durangoans and FLC alumni from the 1980s and ‘90s, Terrill-Flint this fall completed a life history with Hwaja Chung, a long-time Durango restaurateur and chef whose Main Avenue restaurant, Grandma Chung’s, was beloved by many. And who has an amazing story to tell.

From Dirks to dynasty: Video chronicles Skyhawks soccer's championship legacy

In 1999 a team established a program, put a school on the map, and captivated a town. The 1999 Fort Lewis College men's soccer team did all that in a magical season that saw them get as close to hoisting a national championship trophy as you can get without actually getting to touch it.

Despite falling short of their highest goal, from that season emerged a Skyhawks men's soccer program that has since forged and fielded teams that have won NCAA Division II National Championship titles in 2005, 2009, and 2011.

Fort Lewis College will celebrate the career of legendary basketball coach, Bob Hofman, on February 12 by naming the court in Whalen Gymnasium in his honor. FLC will recognize his accomplishments during a ceremony prior to the men’s basketball game vs. Western State Colorado University, which begins at 7:30 p.m.

FLC Cycling team takes silver at the Collegiate Cyclocross Nationals

Fort Lewis College's Skyhawks Cycling Team jetted across the country to Asheville, North Carolina in early January 2016 to compete in the USA Cycling Collegiate Division I Cyclocross Nationals. The team took home 2nd place overall in the team omnium, driven by 2nd place in the team relay, 1st place in the women's individual, and 3rd and 5th place in the men's individual. Go Skyhawks!!
