Comet SWAN

Comet SWAN: Comet Swan had perihelion on September 28, 2006, but flaired in October from 7th to 4th magnitude. This image was taken shortly after that. This is just the head - the tail was quite long, but faint.

Date: October 2006
Equipment:
Telescope: Meade 16" Schmidt Cassegrain
Camera: SBIG ST-10XE

Processing Notes: The data was acquired, reduced, aligned, and stacked in CCDSoft. Brightness and contract adjusted in CCDSoft. No other processing.

Additional Comments: I suppose details of images taken so long before the web site was up could be tracked down, but that is not a high priority.
