Farm Field Day at the Old Fort

We are planning for a Fall, 2020 event so stay tuned.  Here is some information about our 2019 event:

2nd Annual Event

Monday, May 13, 2019

10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

 Free Parking

  • Rocky Draw Ag Services
  • Tag Equipment
  • Beneficial uses of drones in Agriculture and Natural Resources
  • Practical use of drones
  • Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) Rainfall Simulator
  • Beef cattle synchronization and artificial insemination

Drone Flight Demonstrations at 10 am and 11 am

Historical walking tour at 1 pm- Led by Roy Horvath

Field Demonstrations at 1 pm in south arena

  • Horse-drawn cultivation system for hemp production
  • Waterjet Stinger for planting trees
  • Seeders:  No-till drill                   Cone seeder (broadcast)             Plotmaster seeder

Horse-drawn shuttles available  - courtesy of Four Corners Draft Horse, Mule and Carriage Assoc.

Plant Sale including seed potatoes, onion bunches, leeks, and 6-packs of vegetables.

Concessions will include morning coffee, warm and cold drinks.  Soups and sandwiches made with Old Fort products and local pork will also be available.
