NS2S participants will interact with peers from multiple tribal communities. Over 170 tribal nations are represented at Fort Lewis College from as far north as the Arctic Circle to the Southern reaches of the eastern seaboard. You will build community through experiential development, and focus on building academic capital within the College community so that your first year of college is a success.
You will have the opportunity to engage with faculty members and build relevant skills such as how interpret a syllabus, a crash course on how to use theFort Student Portal, and how to navigate academic resources and network with mentors. Additionally, you will engage with the Four Corners area through an indigenous lens and have a ton of fun along the way. This program will be led by the Native American Center staff members and current student leaders. The program is focused on supporting first year FLC students (entering freshman and transfer), fall 2019 will be the first semester you have attended Fort Lewis College.
