Student leaders are what make this program what it is. They have been selected for their judgment and experience in the outdoors, as well as their personality and ability to work with groups. All Peak Experiences leaders have gone through a demanding three week outdoor leadership course that focuses on group dynamics, teaching techniques, decision making, risk management, backcountry travel, technical mountain skills and leave no trace principles. These students not only lead Peak Experiences trips, but also lead trips and attend trainings through the Outdoor Pursuits Program. Additionally, each leader is trained in wilderness medicine. These are committed individuals who are at the heart of each and every trip.
