IF YOU RECEIVE A BOMB THREAT, try to remain calm and ask the following questions, and take notes if possible:

When will the bomb explode?

Where is the bomb?

What does it look like?

What kind of bomb is it?

What will cause the bomb to explode?

Did you place the bomb? When? Why?

Who are you? Where do you live?

How can I contact you?

Where are you right now?

When the contact is terminated, immediately call the Fort Lewis College Police at 9-911. Tell the dispatcher everything you can remember about the call. Refer to your notes, if any. After the police have been contacted, notify your supervisor. If you feel you are in immediate danger, leave the building, but make sure the responding emergency units can contact you. A Fort Lewis College Police Officer will respond and make an assessment to determine if an evacuation is warranted.

Never attempt to investigate a suspicious package yourself. Avoiding embarrassment is not worth your life.
