Sue Kraus joined Fort Lewis College in 1994 after earning her Ph.D. in social psychology from University of Colorado, Boulder. She is interested in cognitive processes that lead to stereotyping and prejudice, mindfulness meditation, and building compassion for self and others. Other areas of interest include cross-cultural psychology, teaching pedagogy, research design and statistical analyses. She enjoys supporting and guiding student researchers, helping them dive into their own research interests. She has multiple publications and presentations with student co-authors. Dr. Kraus is the 2013 recipient of the FLC Alice Admire Excellence in Teaching Award. In addition to Fort Lewis College, she is passionate about traveling, libraries, the Durango community, and spending as much time as possible outdoors.
