Registration Information

There are two registration periods over the course of the academic year. 

  1. The first begins in October and ends on the Spring census date, which is the 12th day of the spring semester (learn more about Census). Students can register for both Spring and Summer classes during this registration period. 
  2. The second begins in March. There are two end dates for this registration period -- one for Summer and the other for Fall. Summer registration closes on the Summer census date (the 12th day of the summer term). Fall registration closes on the Fall census date (12th day of the fall term).

Register for Classes

When to Register

Check your registration start date and eligibility on WebOPUS. You can start registering for classes at 7:00 a.m. on your registration start date, unless your have a hold on your account (read more about account holds). If you need to be cleared by an advisor before you can register, you will be notified by email. 

NOTE: You can still register if you have a past-due balance of $499 or less.

How to Register for Classes on WebOPUS

You can register for classes on WebOPUS any time between 7:00 a.m. on your registration start date and 11:59 p.m. on Thursday of the first week of that semester's classes. Starting Friday of the first week of the semester, you can only add classes using a Course Addition form (see below). Register via WebOPUS

  • Log in to WebOPUS
  • Click the "Student Services" tab
  • Click "Registration"
  • Click "Add/Drop Classes" and select the term for which you'd like to register
    • Enter the CRN numbers (Course Reference Numbers: unique 5-digit numbers assigned to each course) in the white boxes at the bottom of the page for each of the classes you're registering for, then click "Submit Changes".

Register Using the Class Search Feature on WebOPUS

  • Log in to WebOPUS
  • Click the "Student Services" tab
  • Click "Registration"
  • Click "Class Search"
    • Select the term for which you would like to register
    • Select a department, then click "Course Search", or use the "Advanced Search" feature
    • Find a course, then click the "View Sections" button
    • Check the small box next to the section you would like to register for, then click "Register"
    • If the class is full, you will not see the small box next to the class. Instead, you will see the letter "C", which means it is closed (read more about how to join the waitlist). 

Adding Classes After the Semester Has Started

You can add classes on WebOPUS until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday of the first week of the semester. Beginning Friday of the first week of the semester, you can only add classes in person at Skyhawk Station using the Course Addition form (must be signed by the instructor). 

You will not be eligible to receive federal student loans for courses added after Census, which is Tuesday of the third week of classes (learn more about Census).

DEADLINE: The last regular day of classes is the deadline to add a class. 

Waitlists

A registration waitlist is an electronic list of students who are waiting to register for a full class. All classes have an available waitlist except for those that have a required lab with a separate CRN (Course Reference Number: a unique 5-digit number assigned to each class). For example, CHEM 150 has one CRN and the CHEM 150 labs have different CRNs, so that class does not have a waitlist.
