The Rocky Mountain Mining Conference is a bi-annual event that brings together diverse professions and perspectives to think collectively about mining and its impacts. We aim to discuss science and policy of preserving and restoring water quality at mine sites and mine lands remediation. 

Join Restore the Balance for their annual keynote speaker featuring useful insights into overcoming our political divides and how everyday students and citizens can make a meaningful difference in their communities.

Fort Lewis College has been partnering with the Mountain Studies Institute, University of Arizona, USDA, the Dolores Watershed Collaborative, and others to understand how forest structure impacts snow accumulation and retention in the San Juan Mountains.  To do this, there are transects of snow stakes that monitored via game cameras to measure daily depth values and we need your help to process this data.  Please join us for an overview of the project as well as time to work on photo processing.  Light snacks and refreshments will be provided outside of the computer lab.

We will simulate what a realistic practice would look like, with different skills & drills that we do every day. Coaches are more than welcome to attend to get new drill ideas.
